ABOUT ISAAC WENTZ, MD, QME

Dr. Isaac Wentz is a board-certified psychiatrist with fellowship training in forensic psychiatry. He maintains active clinical practice in hospital and correctional settings while providing independent psychiatric evaluations for workers’ compensation, legal, and medico-legal matters.

Dr. Wentz completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, where he trained across inpatient, emergency, forensic, and community mental health settings. He subsequently completed a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, receiving specialized training in competency evaluations, violence risk assessments, civil commitment matters, and correctional psychiatry.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Wentz serves as a California Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) and provides independent psychiatric evaluations for workers’ compensation and medico-legal cases. His evaluations include comprehensive record review, psychiatric assessment, impairment analysis, and preparation of detailed medical-legal reports.

 Dr. Wentz has extensive experience managing legal holds, civil commitment proceedings, competency-related matters, and psychiatric care within correctional environments. His clinical and forensic training includes work at Napa State Hospital, Sacramento County Jail, Lake’s Crossing Center, and multiple hospital-based psychiatric programs.

His medico-legal evaluations emphasize objectivity, thorough documentation, and adherence to established psychiatric and forensic standards. Dr. Wentz evaluates each case based on the available medical evidence, clinical findings, and applicable legal considerations.
